According to the new report, cyberpunk 2077 developers may experience even more problems

It’s been exactly one month since then Cyberpunk 2077 finally got on store shelves, but it was certainly a slow one for the team at CD Project Red. After being released in a dismal state on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, the development studio is working tirelessly to briefly improve the quality of the game. And now it sounds like members of CDPR may be even more under pressure to ensure that the game will get a better state in the near future.

According to a new report by the Polish publication Benchmark, Poland’s own office for competition and consumer protection (abbreviated UOKIK) is now interested in CD Projekt Red and is monitoring the situation with regard to Cyberpunk 2077 quite a bit. As the name of the entity indicates, the UOKIK serves the general public in Poland to ensure that consumer interests are taken care of. Although no steps have been taken by the UOKIK yet, they can do so in the future.

For now, the bureau is just making sure that CD Projekt Red makes the promises it has made regarding the future of Cyberpunk 2077. Over the past few weeks, the studio has said it will add new updates to the game over the next two months to improve the console version of the game. However, if this does not happen on purpose, UOKIK can switch to a fine CD Project Red.

It is important to note that the UOKIK has not yet handed out any fines and that the chances are that it will never be. That said, if the office believes that CD Project Red was somehow unfair to consumers and that the promised corrections are not enough to satisfy customer complaints, it could give the studio a maximum of 10% of its annual revenue fine. Again, there is a reasonable chance that it does not work, but it may depend on the performance of CD Project Red in the coming weeks and months.

The biggest downside of this whole situation is that it is only going to put even more strain on the developers at CDPR who are surely excited as it is. All in all, this situation was frustrating to see unfold in many ways, but hopefully, Cyberpunk 2077’s quality will continue to improve as we move forward.
