According to Studio, Marvel’s Avengers have not seen so many people

The head of Crystal Dynamics claims in an interview that there are still many content players from Marvel’s Avengers who have yet to experience them.

The studio behind Marvel’s Avengers claims that there is a lot of content that players have yet to experience. With the launch of Crystal Dynamics’ video games against the famous superhero team, there was a positive reception during the launch, but the title faltered shortly thereafter, Marvel’s Avengers significantly underestimated expectations.

Problems began to appear before Crystal Dynamics before the game was launched in the form of a controversial marketing campaign. In a recent interview with Game Informer, The head of the Crystal Dynamics studio, Scot Amos, has the difficult launch of Marvel’s Avengers and what the studio learned from the experience. Amos attributes Crystal Dynamics’ lack of communication with its players to the studio’s commitment to fix the game after its launch as Marvel’s Avengers required some significant patches after release. Focusing on making the base game fit the studio vision, the studio was less confident in announcing Marvel’s Avengers’ long-term plan for additional content. According to Amos, this mistake has changed the mentality of Crystal Dynamics, and the studio will refocus on its communication efforts.

While it’s refreshing to hear a studio manager admit mistakes in releasing a game, at the same time it feels like damage control in an attempt to bring some players back to Marvel’s Avengers. Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the popularity of these comic heroes is an all-time high, and it should translate well into a successful gameplay installment. Players will have to wait to see what Crystal Dynamics has to offer before it can be determined whether a lack of communication was the reason why Marvel’s Avengers initially had a flawed performance.
