President Luis Abinader appointed the leader of the Christian Reform Party (PRSC) and advocate, Eddy Alcántara Castillo, in front of the National Institute of Consumer Protection (Proconsumidor).
Decree 176-21, with a unique article, establishes that in Resolution 01-2021 of the Board of Directors of the Consumer Council conforms to the terms of Sandino Báez Bisonó, Ana Vertilia Cabrera and Eddy Alcántara for the appointment of Executive Director of, Instituto Nacion of Protection of Consumer Rights, March 17, 2021.
Last December 30, Anina Del Castillo, who was the Executive Director of Proconsumidor since January 2016, announced that she would be relegated to cargo.
Since then, this institution has been represented by a representative.
Del Castillo assures that its refusal is due to a “personal decision made to weigh various factors that he marked the year 2020”.
