Abinader decrees the incorporation of 72 new cooperatives

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, informs the judges of the creation of 72 new cooperatives at the national level, through multiple decrees.

“Luis Abinader Corona, firm is the owner of the decrees numbers 242-21, 243-21, 244-21, 245-21, 246-21 and 247-21, contenting the incorporation of 72 new cooperatives in all the national territory”, read the communiqué of the Presidency.

In this document the Presidency also affirms that the objective of this decree is to incentivize the economic development in the areas affected by productive activity in the country.

The cooperatives incorporated in the decrees represent a wide variety of commercial and productive activities, such as agropecuaries, transportation, plate and fruit producers, multiple services, arrears and credits, production and works, among others.

According to the communication, the cooperatives are associations of persons who voluntarily form one to form an organization that manages financial funds, reaching a prior agreement between its societies.

These entities offer assistance to their societies in the market of their social, economic and cultural aspirations.

The Dominican State has been intervening in the debt management of the cooperative works of the Institute of Development and Credit Cooperative (Idecoop) since 1963.
