President Luis Abinader announced this year that in the next few days the tender for 800 megas natural gas will be initiated with his deposit to start a production project of this type of energy in Manzanillo, Montecristi.
Abinader habló during the company of Pacto Eléctrico between various sectors, in which the Minister of Energy and Minas, Antonio Almonte, agreed that immediately one of these ten renewable energy contracting contracts (solar and oil).

Regarding the Electric Pact, Abinader considers that this agreement (the Electric Pact) is not perfect, but it is possible.

“Our assets will provide the dominant company with a more stable electric service, with abundant energy and lower costs,” Almonte said.
The pact raises issues such as the reduction of costs and the majority of services, ambient aspects, tariffs, among others, which contribute to the development of a more competitive and transparent service, at a lower cost and with the mayor of energy production for all sectors.
