Abinader aclara RD not pay for new hospitals in Haiti

Santo Domingo, RD.

The Dominican president, Luis Abinader, stated that there are no plans to invest funds in the construction of hospitals in Haiti, as he has agreed to a bilateral agreement that will be made public in the future.

“What the Dominican Republic wants to do, and it’s important to declare it, is to be a sewer and facilitator of its aid”, said Abinader in a press release during an act of presentation of a living construction plan.

The mandate ensures that the meetings with the embassies of Haiti’s most important countries, including those in Canada, the United States, France and Germany, begin to discuss the financing of these hospitals.

Abinader’s statement was produced a day later when his governor called for a bilateral declaration signed during a meeting between the Dominican president and his Haitian homologue, Jovenel Moise, that he should make the passing decision.

At one point in its statement, it stated that “with the collaboration of the international community that has demonstrated its willingness to finance hospitals in Haiti, both agents have agreed to cooperate in the construction of general hospitals in Haitian territory”.

Dominican authorities are interested in the construction of hospitals in the country to avoid Haitian citizens using the Dominicans.

The Abinader proposal, passed in November, states that his country could not finance the large number of Haitian women that he had in the Dominican hospitals, a declaration that would cause malice in Puerto Príncipe.

According to Dominican official figures, of the approximately 167,000 shares produced each year in the country, around 20,000 the mother is Haitian, although these statistics do not specify the migratory status of women.

As part of the construction of hospitals, agents are working to collaborate on the identification and registration process in the Haitian Civil Registry of hundreds of Haitian miles residing in Dominican territory.

Haiti is in the process of creating a Civil Registry ahead of the celebration of the constitutional referendum scheduled for April next year and the presidential elections in September.

In addition, the agreements include the initiation of a negotiation process to reduce maritime fronts between countries, and a compromise of both sides to ensure the front end in combating the irregular migration flow, the treatment of people, the trafficking of arms the narcotics drug and the dressing gown.

Frontier countries also tend to stretch energy cooperation, agricultural and industrial production, as well as continue the negotiations negotiated to establish a commercial agreement, which never existed between these frontier countries, and its interests.
