Abigail Breslin on Friday night shared a heartfelt tribute to her father Michael, who died of complications due to COVID-19.

Among the photos was one of a young Breslin and her father during a prize-giving ceremony – presumably around the time of Little Miss Sunshine – with Nicole Kidman featured prominently.

On February 10, Breslin revealed on Twitter that her father tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be placed on a ventilator. She urged her followers to continue wearing masks and following COVID-19 protocols.

Breslin later wrote in a tweet: “All I can say is this: Covid is never real again if you have experienced it first hand or by a loved one. It is unpredictable and relentless. My father was incredibly careful and had have not left the house since its inception, except for doctor’s appointments. Be safe.
