Abigail Breslin’s father passed away last week after being diagnosed with COVID-19, the actress shared on Instagram calling him a sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic, amazing ‘in a tribute.

The 24-year-old Scream queens star shared her father Michael’s diagnosis for the first time on February 10 and wrote on Instagram that he had been placed in a ventilator. “I believe things will turn around at any moment, but constantly go with your masks and follow COVID protocol,” she wrote.

On Friday, however, Breslin posted the tragic update. “Oh woe. Hard to write it. Harder than I thought,” she wrote. “I was shocked and devastated … my sweet, perfect, wonderful, heroic, wonderful dada passed away after me and my family said goodbye. It was COVID-19 that cut short my sweet dad’s life … mostly want to I remember my father for who he was. ‘

She added: “My father was a hilarious, noisy, stubborn, rebellious, intelligent, sweet, amazing person. He loved life. He loved his family. He loved the simple things … he loved a cup of coffee (black, heated for 66 seconds. NEO style). “

Breslin described her father as a dog and cat lover who wanted to hear his daughter’s pet stories, ‘[He’d] always says, ‘Abba Dabba, you have that animal lover just like me in you.’ “She added, ‘I miss your dad. I can not wait to see you again. I will never, ever, ever forget you. To the moon and back dada … “

On the day her father’s diagnosis was announced, the Little Miss Sunshine star tweeted about the unpredictability of COVID-19 and explained that he had just left his home for doctor appointments. “All I can say is this: COVID is never real again until you have experienced it first hand or by a loved one,” she wrote.

A few days later, she begged her fans to abide by safety rules. “It is I who say that if you were to ask my father: A mask is VERY LITTLE uncomfortable as a fan,” she wrote on Instagram. “So STFU. And please wear your damn mask. Please. No one has to go through that.”
