Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers slammed politicians who created the Wuhan coronavirus restrictions, but did not follow their own rules. He also disputes the inability of Congress to pass a second round of stimulus relief to Americans.
Rodgers applauded the Barstool Fund, which provides immediate relief to small businesses and employees struggling with the pandemic. The quarterback has donated $ 500,000 to the fund, which has raised more than $ 22 million so far.
He applauded Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for receiving money from the fund on time to recipients, usually between 24 and 72 hours.
“I think there was such a need. If you look around our area today, it’s not like the government is helping someone in time,” Rodgers explained. “I mean, they took forever to figure out how to give away $ 600 checks, and then you might know $ 2000 at this point or not. It’s not life-changing money,” he said. “What Dave and his people are doing with the Barstool Fund is life-changing money. It’s sustainability for these people, and I think that’s the thing you’re most drawn to is just not relying on the government to help you. “Because of course it’s shown that this is not going to be the way they are going to do it.”
The quarterback has downplayed the Wuhan coronavirus restrictions of politicians, especially if those who draft the rules cannot follow it.

“It’s like I mean we have to trust the government to help us become a joke,” Rodgers said.
Instead of relying on the government to get Americans through the pandemic, funds like those that Portnoy founded and those who donate do more good, the football star explained. He said a name and face is being given to the names and businesses – many of which have been around for decades – that are struggling. This is what motivated him to make the donation.
“It’s really a call to action to those who can donate. Let’s donate. Let’s help our brothers and sisters, because these are our people. We are all we have,” Rodgers said.
“The government is probably not going to get you at this stage,” he explained. “We’ve seen them set up a 500-page account and go millions, in some cases, trillions of dollars to other countries. It’s not like they’re keeping the money here on the home front.”
Host Pat McAfee corrected Rodgers, saying the amount of money that went to other countries is in the trillions of dollars.
