Aaron Rodgers surprisingly announces he is engaged, thanks QB ‘fiancé’ during MVP speech at NFL Honors

There were many surprises during the tenth annual “NFL Honors” show Saturday night, but none of them were bigger than the one that came from Aaron Rodgers. After being named MVP for the third time in his career, the Packers quarterback used his acceptance speech to casually announce that he was ENGAGED.

Rodgers started his speech by talking about how crazy things were in 2020 and then he threw a gossip bomb that no one saw coming.

“2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with a lot of change, growth, incredible memorable moments, 180 days in a row that my nose hair was scraped, and played for very few fans,” Rodgers said. “I got engaged and I played some of the best football of my career.”

It’s about as comfortable as you’ll ever hear someone announce their involvement on national television for the first time. Later in the speech, Rodgers also thanked his “fiancée” without naming her by name.

Once Rodgers made the announcement, you, as you can imagine, became a popular topic on Twitter and that’s mostly because no one seemed to have any idea he was actually dating anyone.

Rodgers has been dating Danica Patrick for just over two years, but the couple broke up at some point in the summer of 2020. If you’re wondering who Rodgers is engaged to, he did not say, but it’s probably no coincidence that his people confirmed this week that he’s actually dating someone and that someone is the actress Shailene Woodley.

The 37-year-old quarterback has known Woodley since at least July, but it is not known how long they will be dating. According to E! News, Rodgers and the 29-year-old tried to establish a long-distance relationship, and it seems that things worked out better than anyone could have imagined.

“They saw each other and had contact,” an insider told E !. “They keep talking and seeing each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers, but they also make time for each other.”

Although Rodgers recently got out of his relationship with Patrick, the quarterback sounded like someone who might have been in a new relationship an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” in September. During the interview, Rodgers was asked by a caller why he looks so much happier this season.

“I just have a new and greater love for life and I’ve made decisions and changes and habits that put me in a much better position,” Rodgers said. “And there are just a lot of things that have come together in the last few months of my life that have been really enjoyable and have reminded me and given me perspective – on life and in football – to see things through the most positive lens possible. can and that’s why I have so much fun and it starts with loveand to then surround yourself with people you really enjoy. ‘

It sounds like a man who might be in love.

Now that Rodgers is engaged, everyone on Twitter has one question for Woodley, it’s more of a question.

It’s hard enough to go out during a pandemic and it’s even harder to find someone to marry, but Rodgers seems to have done it.
