Aaron Rodgers says “Jeopardy!” host is an ‘honor of a lifetime’, Alex Trebek calls a ‘legend’

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers is excited about his new “Jeopardy!” gig.

The three-time NFL MVP will host the quiz show on Monday, April 5th.

“Unlike the Super Bowl, it’s the honor of a lifetime,” Rodgers, 37, said in a Twitter promo for the show.

“Following in the footsteps of a legend is something I know a little bit about,” Rodgers added, appearing to be a reference to his career as successor to Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre, and now “Jeopardy! ‘ host Alex Trebek.

Trebek died in November 2020 at the age of 80 after a twenty-month-long battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He hosted the American Games Show for 37 years.

While Trebek was still alive, Rodgers made an appearance in “Celebrity Jeopardy!” tournament. Rodgers competed and knocked out investor Kevin O’Leary and former astronaut Mark Kelly.

The NFL star has won an almighty $ 50,000 for the Macc Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding childhood cancer and research into blood disorders.

Six years after his charity victory, Rodgers goes from “Jeopardy!” champion to quiz master.

The contestants who will compete while Rodgers serves as the host will earn money that benefits small businesses, according to the 30-minute promotion.

In another teaser shared on Twitter on Saturday, Rodgers said, “The key to being football smart is to focus. And the key to being really good at hosting is the same focus.”
