A woman who offends Hilaria Baldwin says false accents are ‘offensive’

The social media awe that sparked Hilaria Baldwin’s Spanish accent scandal said in a new interview that the popular yoga guru ‘must own what she did’ – calling her allegations that she was born in Spain ‘offensive’ and wrong ‘.

The woman, who started a December 21 thread under @LeniBriscoe questioning Baldwin’s claim that she was born in Mallorca, told the Daily Mail that she has little regrets about being behind the brouhaha.

“People have asked me, ‘You have nothing better to do,’ and the answer is, ‘No, I have not,'” she told the news agency on condition of anonymity. “It’s a pandemic, it’s cold outside and I’m not celebrating Christmas.”

Monday she said in her infamous Tweet: “You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s dedication to her decades of experience where she’s a Spanish person.”

In the midst of the firestorm, Baldwin was forced to admit that although she speaks with a questionable accent and claims to have been born in Spain, she is actually a ‘white girl’ from Boston.

The Twitter resident told The New York Times anonymously on Wednesday that she is afraid of being revealed because Alec Baldwin, her husband, Hilaria might hit her.

Briscoe – who attended the elite Vassar College in the state of New York – complained to Hilaria for claiming she was born in Spain.

‘It is offensive and wrong to pretend that you are an immigrant and that you speak English as a second language and apply the real experience that the real immigrant women experience. That is not what happened, “she told the Daily Mail.

‘She made a message saying that people in the park think she’s the babysitter because her children are blond and have blue eyes. It’s something that happens to mothers of color who actually have an accent, ‘she said.

‘It’s offensive, it’s hard experiences people have, and she pretended. It’s not really necessary. She can be a warm white influencer. A lot of people do that, ”Briscoe added.

She also said she initially did not realize that Baldwin was pretending to be a Spaniard until people found articles in which she spoke about Spanish culture.

“It makes me worse,” she told the Daily Mail.

Briscoe also revealed that she has been inundated with messages since her original mission, some of which have not been friendly.

‘Some people said I did it because I’m jealous and ugly. I do not care if I’m ugly. It seems like a lot of work to look like her, ”she said.

But she also said she felt “some responsibility” for the setback against Baldwin on social media.

“In this case, it was funny, but social media can be really cruel and harmful when there is hope when someone does something that people do not like. I don’t think it’s great, “she said.

“People said cruel and unnecessary things. It bothered me. There are so many things you can criticize Hillary Baldwin for, it’s not necessary to make fun of how many children she has, it was really offensive to me, ” she added.

‘It reminded me of when people mock Melania Trump because they model naked. Who cares? It does not hurt anyone. “She did other things that you can mock,” said Briscoe.

“There are elements of misogyny, but it’s important to call people out when they do things that are harmful, which I think they were,” she said.

Asked what she would say to Baldwin, Briscoe said: ‘I would say she has to say sorry to all the immigrants and English second language learners and mothers of color who mistakenly consider them children’s nannies. She must own what she did. ‘
