A Florida woman who claims to be Harry Potter has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident in which a federal judge was killed and a six-year-old boy was injured.
According to a probable statement, 28-year-old Natasia Snape, 28, was arrested for the vehicle murder charge and left the scene of an accident with death and other crimes.
The crash happened Friday morning in Delray Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale, after a car swerved around traffic and hit a sidewalk, hitting a woman, Sandra Feuerstein, 75.
Feuerstein, a federal judge in New York’s Eastern District, was later pronounced dead at a hospital, the statement said.
The red, two-door sedan then hit a six-year-old boy crossing the street, and the driver fled, the document reads. Snape was later found in a car that matched the description of the vehicle that struck Feuerstein and the boy.
According to the document, Snape was behind the wheel and appears to be unconscious.
She started fighting with paramedics in the ambulance and said she was Harry Potter, the statement said. Authorities said they found a synthetic drug that caused excited delirium in her purse.
According to the document, Snape denied that she was involved in the accident.
According to court records, Snape was appointed public defender, although her attorney could not be reached Sunday. According to jail records, she was detained instead of a $ 20,000 bond.
Feuerstein was a former public school teacher in New York City who later went to law school, became a judge in the state of New York, and was nominated to the Federal Reserve by George W. Bush in 2003.
“We are thinking of her family at this time,” her alma mater, Cardozo School of Law, said Sunday.
