A woman from Kansas arrested for April Fools’ prank against daughter, police say

Joke is on her.

Police folded a woman from Kansas into handcuffs after pretending to have been shot as an April Fool’s joke.

Arnthia Willis, 58, allegedly called her daughter on Thursday, told her about the “shooting” and then brought her down, according to Wichita’s KAKE TV store.

The daughter was upset and called 911. It asked more than 15 police to respond to Willis’ home in full protective gear with guns and EMS on tow.

Officers broke down the door, but no one was found inside, the report said.

They later learned that Willis was actually at work and allegedly made up the shooting as a joke.

The joke was arrested on the grounds of an illegal request for emergency services.

Police Lieutenant Ronald Hunt said the April Fools’ jokes could be ‘good’, but when the police get involved, ‘but that it’s not funny anymore’, the Wichita Eagle reported.

“This is a very dangerous situation,” he said.
