Halo 5: Guardians was released in 2015. But it was only a few days ago that players finally, after six years, found a secret race involving four-legged mangoes. All that was needed to find this Easter egg was a little help from the developer who added it to the game.

On Easter Sunday, game developer Jan Willem Nijman posted a tweet asking co-developers to share Easter eggs hid them in games. The tweet became semi-viral and a bendingnch people shared all sorts of cool secrets they buried in different games.

Patrick Wren, a multiplayer designer at 343, tweeted it inside Halo 5‘s mission “Evacuation” there is a hidden mangrove race that can only be triggered in collaboration with four players. The winner of the race even gets a heavy weapon. It has the attention of the Halo community and soon players went in search of this undiscovered secret.

Various Halo YouTubers and secret hunters began searching the entire level for any hidden switches, sounds, etc. But even with the combined so many efforts of Halo experts and fans, no one found the secret after the first day. The the next day, on April 5, Wren shared a short poem that gives secret hunters some tips.

With this new information, Halo content creators like RocketSloth and Ducain23 started a stream and played along to try to find the secret. At this point, the best theory they had was that they would have to stand 117 seconds in front of a certain gate on the map. (This is the number head of the master head, to which the poem seems to refer.) But it did not work. However, Wren is actually looking at the current and took part in the chat, gave some extra tips and let them know that their theory was right, but they had to move faster.

Finally, after a few extra tips and almost two days of hunting, the hidden mango of Halo 5 race is activated. Lik Wren explains in his first tweet what it all starts with, the winner actually gets a heavy weapon. Another interesting thing is that all the enemies despise the level if you activate this secret. Can be useful for anyone who plays Halo 5‘s campaign on legendary with friends.

Na aHow well this Easter egg was hidden and how it was only found after a developer gave tips to the community, I wonder how many other undiscovered secret hide in video games?
