A suspect hacking into police led police officers on a wild chase

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Philadelphia police have arrested a suspect who led officers on a wild, fast chase through city streets to two car hijackings Friday night.

It happened at about 20:40 in Broad Street and Erielaan.

According to police, a delivery manager at City View Pizza with his wife and two children, ages 4 and 2, had delivery when the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Marcel Jenkins, got into the vehicle and was still taking off with the family. has. within.

Around 10:30 p.m., the family was found safe in 21st and Spring Garden streets, but police say the suspect hijacked another vehicle and led officers through the city.

Chopper 6 was on top when the suspicious officers tried to dodge. At one point during the chase, the suspicious officers led through the parking lot of the Philadelphia police headquarters in Race Street.

Jenkins was arrested just after 11pm in Franklin Square Park.

He faces a string of charges including kidnapping, car hijacking, aggravated assault and other related offenses.

No injuries were reported.
