Hades, Supergiant Games’s Greek-themed roguelike can be a tough game. But a fearless Twitch streamer took it upon himself to tackle the challenge by beating the game in an incredibly untraditional way: by using a controller made from a real grenade.
Grenades are a big part of the game and serve as useful generators, and they also play an important place in Greek mythology. But I never thought anyone could use a real grenade to defeat the final boss.
To make the controller, the jet Dylan “Rudeism” Beck cut a grenade into 10 pieces, wired the pieces to a MakeyMakey circuit board to make them work as capacitive touch buttons, and glued a ground wire from his arm to the board . Here’s how the contrast works according to Beck: “My arm will be connected to the MakeyMakey via the ground wire, and when I touch one of the grenades, it creates a loop between me, the grenade and the circuit board, and that is what input does. ”

Beck first tried to play with a grenade six days ago, and he has since ground runs and chased an elusive escape from the Underworld. Overnight, Beck finally did it and successfully defeated the final boss of the match an epic battle it included two heartbreaking failures of the controller.
This is not Beck’s first attempt to play a game with a non-traditional controller – it’s actually his thing. Among other notable achievements, he won a round of the beautiful Battle Royale platform Val guys with jelly beans.
