Earlier this month, a family was ordered to leave a Southwest Airlines flight after their two-year-old could not hold his face mask.
Now a Good Samaritan has stepped in to help them reach their intended destination at no extra cost, reports The New York Post.
Erik Harvey, his wife Michelle and their toddler Jackson were all ready to fly through Southwest Airlines from Denver to Austin on April 1, Fox News reported.
The parents were aware of the federal regulations for all airline passengers older than two and knew that their son had to cover his face for the duration of the flight.
‘I practiced at home two or three times and every time he threw it off, but I thought that [Southwest] would work with us on the plane because he’s 2, ‘Michelle Harvey told Fox 7.
When the family boarded the flight, Jackson wore his mask. “Everything went swimming … until it was not. That’s when Jackson threw off the mask and ‘was ready to wear it.’
“The flight attendant comes over and she says, ‘Ma’, he’s not wearing his mask, you’ll have to leave the plane, ‘” Erik Harvey said.
James Peck, an old friend and private pilot, noticed a video on social media about the family’s experience and decided to offer a private flight to Austin for a fee of 7.
“I knew I could use that as a great excuse to take a flight and help them get them here,” Peck said. He even offered to fly the Harveys back to Denver after their trip ended.
In recognition of the selfless act, Harvey told Fox News, “The miracles will come to you, things will appear, and the Good Samaritan will appear.”
