Formally unveiled in July 2020 and Asus ROG Phone 3, which was released commercially a few months ago, may get an even more powerful sequel in the near future.

Can change a design and is a name change going on?

An early release will allow the Taiwan-based company to launch this year’s first flag of “mainstream” flagships from top smartphone vendors such as Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi for a change, although the ROG Phone 4 is an indication can give daylight in China a few months ahead of Western markets like the US.

This and the decidedly unconventional designs of the first three members of the Asus ROG Phone family, should be enough to destroy the worldwide appeal of the next edition … unless of course it actually wants to look more like a ‘normal’ 2021 high smartphone. This seems to be what Asus is alluding to on Weibo, although at the moment we are obviously not entirely sure that the ROG Phone 4 will indeed come with a razor-thin ‘chin’ and virtually no screen edges at the top and at the two sides.

Again, we can not even be sure that this bad boy will be called Asus ROG Phone 4, unlike ROG Phone 5, with the model number I005DA which apparently indicates the last monk. If you’re wondering, the ROG Phone 3 is also known by the I003D designation, and skipping a number (or more) has become almost common use in the mobile industry in recent years.

Browse fast SoC, staggering charging speeds and another great battery

This huge improvement will put the Asus ROG Phone 4 (or ROG Phone 5) on the same level as that of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Oppo Reno 5 Pro while beating everything from Samsung’s Galaxy S21 family to the Xiaomi Mi 11 and even the upcoming OnePlus 9 Pro in terms of wired charging technology.
The next generation ROG phone is also tipped (though not currently confirmed) to pack a 6,000 mAh battery, which sounds absolutely colossal by conventional phone standards. Of course, this is not your typical coveted cell phone family, which is why Asus has all the ROG Phone 3 and ROG Phone 2 with a huge 6,000 mAh cell.

Meanwhile, it goes without saying that 5G speeds will be part of this first gaming package, along with Qualcomm’s modern Snapdragon 888 processor and at least 8 memory. The entry level 8GB RAM configuration was a little over a month ago in its undoubtedly unfinished and unpolished form, Android version is already holding on to the software side, which is another sign that the device may be ready for the first time sooner rather than later.
