A Pittsburgh man accused of stabbing a 12-year-old boy in McDonald’s used a racial insult, police said in a statement.

The unharmed man accused of stabbing and stabbing a 12-year-old boy in the neck at a Pittsburgh McDonald’s allegedly biting another person, using racial insults and assaulting police officers during and after the attack, according to a criminal charge.

Charles Edward Turner, 51, called police and McDonald’s staff ‘white N ——‘ and ‘white devils’ when officers and witnesses tried to get him under control following the attack on the child – who was in the shop was with family at the time getting food for his diabetic family member, the document reads.

Officers arrived on Saturday around 2:20 p.m. – minutes after the assault – to find Turner in the McDonald’s lobby in Liberty Avenue. He allegedly fought with police within moments of their arrival at the scene.

Turner punched one officer in the face and kicked another and punched him, and he continued to fight while a witness assisted police. When officers searched him for weapons or smugglers, he allegedly knelt in the face of one policeman and continued to kick at them.

While police were calling in medics to check for a large tear ‘on Turner’s arm, he called at least one of the respondents’ white devil’ and ‘white N —–‘, the complaint further reads.

The adult family member of the victim, who was not identified in the report, told police he and his family stopped at McDonald’s “to buy something because his eldest child had diabetes and his blood sugar was low” , reads the complaint.

They were waiting for their order when the man saw Turner grab the pre-teen from behind, the family member told police. The man then dismantled Turner from the boy, while two witnesses helped restrain him.

It was then that witnesses according to the complaint realized that the boy had been cut in the neck. Police characterize the assault of the young victim as a hood and a knife. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and his injury later stabilized, police said.

The adult family member also sustained cuts and scratches to his forehead during his fight with Turner, while Turner allegedly bit another witness, identified in the charge as a victim, on his left bicep.

“Officers observed this bite mark and it was actively bleeding,” the complaint reads.

Police did not say whether the attack was random or targeted.

Witnesses who questioned Turner after the attack told police he “just wants to finish his coffee and then leave the restaurant,” according to the document. They then ‘spotted him outside the restaurant and moved back and forth and shouted racial remarks before returning’, the complaint reads.

Investigators later found a black and yellow box and a bloodied piece of razor blade near the stabbing site.

Turner continued to fight with the police, even at the station house, where he kicked another officer and called multiple police personnel ‘white devils’, ‘rapists’, ‘white n ——‘ and ‘white satan’ has, reads the complaint. .

He is finally charged with four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, and one each of resisting arrest, attempted murder and possession of instruments of crime – possession of a weapon.

A spokesman for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office could not immediately provide information about Turner’s defense attorney.
