(CNN) – A grieving person and a police agent resulted in a shooting at a high school on Monday in Knoxville, Tennessee, police said. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) in Tennessee says various agencies are on the scene of a shooting at Austin-East Magnet High School.
Special agents of the Division of the Nashville Campo of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Arms of Fuego (ATF) Division will take place in the area of the shooting, held the agency.
The investigation is “active”, says the police.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said it “has no active assets” at Austin-East High School, according to WVLT, a CNN affiliate.
The spokesman for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Kimberly Glenn, said that some of the department’s officials are being rushed to the hospital to see hereditary police agent, informs WVLT.
A reunification site has been set up at the baseball camp behind the school, near the police in another case.
“We are recovering information about this tragic situation and we will provide additional information if possible”, said Bob Thomas, Superintendent of Knox County Schools, in a tuit.
“The school has been insured and students who have not been involved in the incident have been involved with their families.”
