A Oklahoma judge orders Tiger King Zoo to care for big cats

A federal judge in Oklahoma has ordered that the new owners of an Oklahoma zoo that appears in Netflix’s “Tiger King” documentary, all the lion and tiger cubs in their possession, along with the animals’ mothers, be reported to the federal government must hand over.

U.S. District Judge John F. Heil III issued the order last week in the case against Jeffrey and Lauren Lowe and the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, based on alleged violations of the Endangered Species Act and the Animal Welfare Act.

Jeffrey Lowe’s attorney, Daniel Card of Oklahoma City, did not immediately respond to a message.

The Lowes took over the zoo, formerly run by Joseph Maldonado-Passage – also known as Joe Exotic – and appeared in Netflix’s “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness”.

Maldonado-Passage is serving a 22-year prison sentence in a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, for his conviction on charges of conspiracy to murder and rent and violating federal wildlife legislation. Maldonado Passage has formally requested a waiver for outgoing President Donald Trump.
