A new iPhone trick goes viral on TikTok, and Apple fans love it – BGR

Since we are already on the 14th iteration of iOS, it should come as no surprise that the iPhone has all sorts of clever and cool features lurking beneath the surface. And while Apple regularly highlights important and new iOS features at WWDC every year, the company simply does not have time to cover every new addition to its mobile operating system.

The end result is that the iPhone you are probably owning right now while reading this article is far more powerful than what you are probably giving credit for. As an excellent example, a popular video currently circulating on TikTok shows how easy it is for users to take a snapshot of an entire webpage in Mobile Safari.

Although it makes a simple and straightforward snapshot, it can be achieved by simultaneously pressing the iPhone side button and the Volume Up button, but things get trickier if you want to screenshot an entire web page. Fortunately, Apple developers have made it easy to do just that.

To get started, simply navigate to a webpage you want to screenshot and, as you normally would, press the Search button and the Volume Up button at the same time. When you do this, you will see a preview of your screenshot in the lower left corner of your screen.

Once you tap on the image preview, you will be taken to a page where you will see an option titled ‘Full Page’. If you select it, you can capture the webpage with a single screenshot. And if you are so inclined, there is a cutting tool at the top left if you do not want to capture a selected snippet from within the entire site.

After cropping the image as desired, simply tap the Done button in the top left corner, after which you will have the option to save a PDF version of the web page in your Files app.

The truth is, this feature has been around in iOS for years and is not new at all. Still, with many people who are not yet new to the iPhone platform, or may not know certain known power features, there is a good chance that someone can see this tip and will be blown away.

It is worth mentioning that this trick mainly only works in the mobile Safari, i.e. you can not use it to take a screenshot of the whole of one of your text messages.

Meanwhile, WWDC 2021, if history is an indication, will take place this coming June, and it will be interesting to see what type of tent pole Apple plans to launch this year. What’s curious about the iOS 15 version is that we really did not see any notable rumors about the software update, except that the update is likely to drop support for the iPhone 6 and the original iPhone SE.
