A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck south of Muir Beach

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck about 4 km south of Muir beach shortly before 06:00 on Thursday.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was detected at a depth of almost 9 kilometers below the surface.

People said they felt the rumble in San Francisco, Marin, Oakland and San Rafael on social media.

Even on New Year’s Eve, ‘2020 (is) not over yet’ by adding a minor earthquake this morning, ‘tweeted Paul Zeidman from San Francisco.
