A Fort Worth police officer got rid of race-insensitive post on social media

A Fort Worth police officer has been fired for a “race-insensitive post on social media,” the Texas Department of State said Monday.

Kelly Kujawski was fired after an internal investigation found that she was the source of the social media message, which was discovered by another officer on February 5th.

A police statement did not go into detail about the report. A police spokesman has investigated whether more information will be released on Monday night.

“The Fort Worth Police Department keeps every officer to a very high standard and any comments, post or any communication that is racially sensitive and unprofessional will in no way be approved,” the department said in the statement.

A listed phone number for Kujawski could not be found immediately Monday night.

An e-mail message to the Fort Worth Police Officers Association, a trade union, was not immediately returned.

In early February, another officer, Chadwick Hughes, was fired for what was described as racially insensitive and inappropriate on social media, NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reported. Another officer saw these posts on January 30 and notified the majority of them.
