A Florida woman accused of threatening to kill Kamala Harris

“Niviane Petit Phelps knowingly threatened to assassinate the Vice President of the United States and inflict bodily harm in violation of Title 18, Article 871 of the U.S. Code,” from Feb. 13 to Feb. 18, according to the indictment.

According to the indictment, on March 3, David Ballenger, special agent, was notified of the threat to kill Harris. Phelps sent the threats to her incarcerated spouse in Wakulla Correctional Institution via JPay, a computer application that allows the media to share between people without prisoners and inmates.

A special agent of the secret service assigned in the case got the videos and photos that Phelps sent to her husband.

“The videos (which are important for this investigation) generally show Phelps complaining and talking angrily to the camera about her hatred of, among others, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” the complaint reads. “In these videos, however, Phelps also made statements about the assassination of Vice President Harris.”

In one of the videos, Phelps said, ‘Kamala Harris, you’re going to die. Your days are numbered, ‘the complaint added.

In another video on February 18, Phelps said, “I’m going to gunfire … I swear to God, today is your day you die. 50 days from today, mark this day off,”

According to the complaint, Phelps was also shown in a photo on a shooting range two days later. “On February 22, 2021, Phelps applied for a concealed gun permit.”

On March 3, the secret service and detectives from the Miami-Dade police station went to Phelps’ home to interview her, but according to the complaint, she refused to speak to them at the time.

“Two days later, I got a call from Phelps complaining that her employer had put her on administrative leave,” the complaint reads.

On March 6, a secret service agent went to talk to Phelps at her home.

According to the complaint, Phelps said: “She was angry about Kamala Harris as vice-president at the time, but that she’s about it now ‘. Phelps expressed how Kamala Harris apparently is not actually ‘black’ and how Kamala Harris placed her hand on her handbag instead of the bible with disrespect during the inauguration. Phelps went on to say that someone had told her that America was going to choose who they chose, so Phelps set aside her anger over the vice president. Phelps said she’s over now. ‘

CNN contacted Phelps’ public defender for comment.
