For many of us, smartphones are the most important tools we use on a daily basis, and it is definitely great to be able to buy one that fits our needs perfectly. This is exactly why smartphone companies offer several variants of each smartphone – to make sure everyone has something to choose from. To take it one step further is the Indian smartphone brand Lava, whose new smartphone could be adapted according to your needs.

Called the MyZ, the smartphone offers five customizable parameters: rear camera, front camera, RAM, storage and color. For example, you can choose between a three-camera setup and a dual-camera setup, depending on how important the rear cameras are to them. Similarly, one can also select the amount of RAM (2GB / 3GB / 4GB / 6GB) and required storage (32GB / 64GB / 128GB).

It’s not a modular phone, but customers also have the option to upgrade their phone within a span of a year if they feel their configuration is not good enough. For example, if 4 GB of RAM turns out to be a bottleneck for a user, they can upgrade at a nominal fee to a new phone with 6 GB of RAM with Lava’s Z-Up service.

Apart from the flexibility to choose certain phone specifications, the MyZ is a fairly basic phone. It is powered by a MediaTek G35 SoC, has a 6.5-inch HD + IPS LCD screen and has a 5,000 mAh battery. The 2 GB variant is used on Android 10 Go version, while higher RAM variants are used on stock Android 10.

The phone starts at a selling price of INR 6,999 (~ $ 95) and rises to INR 10,699 (~ $ 146) for the maximum option.
