San Mateo County changes vaccine distribution – NBC Bay Area

San Mateo County is changing the way it manages its COVID-19 vaccine sites, and is starting to think smaller and more locally.

People living in and around Daly City performed on Thursday in the outpatient center of the Chinese hospital, one of about five smaller vaccination sites set up in San Mateo County this week.

These mass vaccination sites will no longer be a focal point for health leaders in the province, but in the hope that smaller sites can provide access.

“Going by bus from Daly City to San Mateo is maybe 45-50 minutes,” said supervisor David Canepa. “You just walk in here.”

So far, the country says the smaller sites are getting good response from people using it, and they plan to open a few more next week.

‘A lot of people are trying to get the vaccine now, and when I tried to get an online appointment, I failed, and when I heard there was an opportunity to walk up and I had the day off, rain or shine, go I’m taking it, ”said Lara Pecchi of San Bruno.
