Chinese aviation authority punishes Donghai Airlines after crew members allegedly made noise during a flight

You’ve heard of passengers behaving badly, but what about the cabin crew?

The China Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) is preventing Donghai Airlines from expanding its routes, flights and capacity after a pilot and flight attendant allegedly wrestled during a recent flight.

Wu Shijie, deputy director of the CAAC’s aviation safety office, recently announced the restrictions on the Chinese airline after the February 20 incident, Reuters reported on Monday. The official did not disclose how long the sentence lasts.

Last month, the two men condemned it during a flight from Nantong to Xi'an, following a dispute over a passenger's use of the plane's first-class bathroom.

Although Shenzhen-based Donghai Airlines had earlier confirmed that the pilot and flight attendant had been suspended after their ‘argument’, the airline has since stated that the two have been banned from working for the airline again, Reuters reports. The license will also revoke his license, Shijie said.
