Burr was one of the Republican leaders who voted for Trump’s culpability in the political juvenile of 2021. It is the cost to the Republican Party of his vote to censor. The 65-year-old senator classified the media as a “sadly sad day” for Republicans in his state.
“The leadership of my party has chosen the leadership of a man (Trump) in accordance with the fundamental principles of the Republican Party and the founders of our great nation,” he said.
Burr’s plan is for a state that Trump won by a handful of people in 2020, with more than 65,000 votes cast and Democrats aspiring to run for office. But he also fed the speculation that the son of Donald Trump, Lara Trump, is set to compete for this scan.
