A person familiar with the investigation told the newspaper that the call would be looked into, but warned that little was known about the call and whether it violated any laws.

Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop said in a statement to The Hill “a ridiculous accusation that would be considered ridiculous.”

The announcement comes two days after Raffensperger’s office announced opened a separate sin Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Biden nailed Georgia in the election, making him the first Democratic presidential candidate the state has carried since 1992. The state was often a target for Trump and his allies after the election.

Trump is facing an indictment over the charge of inciting the January 6 riot at the US Capitol that disrupted the certification of Biden’s election college victory.
