‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ stars and co-creator respond to final season announcement – deadline

Refresh for updates: NBC announced on Thursday that Brooklyn Nine-Nine ends with the next eight seasons. The Andy Samberg-led police comedy will conclude during the 2021-22 broadcast season and eventually close its doors at the 99th District.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has delayed production of season eight, which will consist of ten episodes.

When the news about the last season of the program appeared, Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars and co-creator Dan Goor shared fond memories of their work on the program, which first aired on Fox in September 2013. In a statement posted to the officer Brooklyn Nine-Nine Goor recalls the Twitter account when he first co-hosted the show with co-creator Mike Schur and his time in the series.

“Ending the program was a difficult decision, but in the end we felt it was the best way to honor the characters, the story and our viewers,” he wrote. “I know some people will be disappointed that it will end so soon, but honestly, I’m thankful it took so long.”

Melissa Fumero, who stars as Amy Santiago, said it was “one of the greatest joys” to be part of the show. While thanking everyone on the Brooklyn Nine-Nine team, she added that now is not the time for emotions. “We still have a whole season to shoot!” She wrote.
