Netflix Reveals Season 3 Watch Date – Deadline

Cobra Kai, the Karate kind spin-off, became one of Netflix’s most popular original series after moving from YouTube.

The streamer revealed that more than 41 million households are on course to watch season three of the show – the first to premiere exclusively on Netflix – in the first 28 days. This makes the drama, from Sony Pictures TV, one of its ten best original series.

Netflix launched the first two seasons of the program, which takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, which launched on YouTube last year and the third season on January 1st.

During all three seasons, approximately 73 million Netflix households watched an episode and the third season reached number one in 28 countries, including the US, UK, Argentina, Greece and Sri Lanka.

It’s not a big surprise that it performs well; the series, starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, garnered a huge amount of media and social media attention, and the series broke viewers’ records when it appeared on YouTube, including 55 million views for the opening episode.

This comes as Netflix begins launching viewing data more frequently, at least over the hit sessions. Earlier this month, the streamer pointed this out Bridgerton was on course for 63 million households to witness it during the first 28 days.

Cobra Kai moved from YouTube to Netflix last year after the former moved from the original thesis programming. It has already been renewed for a fourth season and there have been talks between Netflix and Sony about the possible expansion of the franchise with others Karate kind series.

Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Martin Kove and Peyton List also star.

Cobra Kai was written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive producers for Overbrook Entertainment with Susan Ekins in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka serve as co-executive producers.
