When it comes down to it, Wendy Williams is undoubtedly one of the most controversial hosts that has ever had television on the day. With a media career spanning 30 years, the New Jersey resident made a name for himself by being what some would call a “shock jockette”.

In the documentary, her brother Tommy tells the story of stepping in with Wendy while she was having a delivery of bulimia. Williams herself admits that she was able to overcome the disorder after reading a tabloid newspaper about the practice of rotting a star’s teeth.

She was raped by one of her first radio guests
During one of her first radio shows, Williams interviewed an unnamed celebrity singer who invited her out for an evening out. After they arrived at his hotel room, he forced her on her despite her protests and then told her that “she can go.” In the documentary, Williams points to the possibility of revealing this identity and asks, “Should I say who he is?” She finally decides not to disclose. However, she says he was a ‘one-hit wonder’.

She worked at Hot 97 for two years before being fired
Williams joined the urban contemporary station in 1996 and apparently made headlines before being fired without ceremony just two years later in 1998. In the documentary, it appears that she is of the opinion that a female executive was guilty, and because ‘she did not tan nose, [then that was probably my fault too]. ”

She was in a relationship with Eric B.
In the movie, Williams explains that she met rapper Eric B. when he and Rakim came to 98.7 KISS FM for their latest single in 1991. The relationship seems to be turbulent and ends when he ‘destroys her credit’ leading. to a warrant because they did not return a rented car. Wendy also reveals that she found out she was pregnant after she and Rakim broke up and had an abortion. She also mentions that she did not tell him or anyone else about it.

She was once married to Kevin Hunter
Williams calls it an ‘initial marriage’ and says it’s not even worth talking about. The marriage lasted only five months and she refers to it as a setback.

She recorded a show with Mo’Nique
The film expresses this fun fact very quickly, and Kevin Hunter mentions it only to refer to the previous pilots that Williams recorded that were just ‘not good enough for her’. Of course, in 2008 she presented her own syndicate show.

She experienced two miscarriages before Kevin Jr. was born
Just as Williams was candid with her guests and their gossip, she also showed the same vulnerability regarding her fertility struggle. She had two miscarriages, which apparently ended at about five months, and shared the experiences of the time with her listeners. The couple married son Kevin Hunter Jr. successfully welcomed in 2000.

She participated in a sober living program against her wishes
In 2018, the host addressed her live and home audience during her talk show when she revealed that she lived in a sober home and rehabilitation facility. In the film, it is revealed that Hunter arranged for Williams to live there after the host went up in the air (which was later linked to her Graves disease diagnosis). She was able to escape by one day escaping from her assigned coaches on her way back to the facility.
