The victims are between 17 and 71 years old.
Seven people were shot near a SEPTA train station in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
One person is in custody, authorities said, adding that two weapons were recovered.
Police are between 17 and 71 years old.
The 71-year-old man was shot in the stomach and both times in both legs and was listed in a critical condition, authorities said.
The other six victims are in a stable condition, police said.
“This is very shameless,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said of the shooting. ‘We were able to get someone in custody as quickly as we did because our officers had another assignment. It’s not because of our lack of presence out here, but I think it’s very telling that people who are willing to take part in this shooting are becoming. increasingly encouraged whether we are here or not. ‘
Outlaw added: “There may have been several shooters, but we still do not know. Several shells have been found, 18 shells, and we are still trying to determine if they all came from the same firearm.”
Police said they are identifying witnesses and locating surveillance footage.
