7 new gadgets to have on your radar this week

No, Apple did not announce any new hardware this week. But it does confirm that WWDC 2021, its annual developer conference, will start on June 7, which means we will definitely see new stuff (mostly software, but maybe some hardware?). In other news, Google has announced that it will not be exhibiting at the world’s largest phone show; Adobe has released a $ 15 bundle for illustrators; and Spotify has introduced some new features to discover new music.

As for new devices, there are also a bunch of those announced this week. There was Bang & Olufsen’s new gaming headset, Casio’s first G-Shock using Google’s Wear OS, and some new MagSafe accessories for your iPhone 12. You can see it all below.

Belkin Magnetic Phone Holder with Face Detection

technology

With thanks to

This is not a wireless charging bay. Belkin’s new phone connector is designed to work with the latest iPhones, as it uses MagSafe to magnetically hold it in place. What makes it super unique is that it uses face detection (via Belkin’s companion app) and a 360 degree rotating base so your iPhone’s camera can follow you as you walk around your room; it feels similar to what Amazon’s new Echo Show 10 can do with its own rotating base. This seems to be the ideal little thing for people who make videos on TikTok or YouTube, but it will not work with certain video calling programs, such as FaceTime or Zoom.
