Lent begins for Christians around the world on Ash Wednesday, February 17, and begins a season of reflection and preparation before Easter Sunday, celebrated on April 4. And in some Catholic traditions, believers do not remember to eat meat, but rather opt for fish.

A lot of fast food chains serve fish sandwiches again this season to feed the believers.

Arby’s has been offering two seafood sandwiches for a limited time, both with crispy fillets from Alaskan Pollack that have been caught wild. The Crispy Fish sandwich is topped with iceberg lettuce and tartar sauce, while King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe is topped with the same batter plus tomatoes and cheddar cheese on a King Hawaiian sandwich.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s both serve a beer-battered fish sandwich with a beer-battered Alaska-Pollock fillet in salad and tartar sauce. Chewboom reports that the Carl’s Jr. sandwich is made with a plain sandwich, while the Hardee’s twist features a sesame seed sandwich.

Fans nationwide can get McDonald’s classic Filet-o-Fish sandwich, featuring fish from sustainable fisheries, topped with American cheese and tartar sauce.

Wendy’s serves a crispy Panko Fish Sandwich with a fillet wild Alaska Pollock, replacing the traditional cod sandwich. Like its predecessor, the Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich contains dill tartar sauce, crispy lettuce and dill pickles, according to a recent blog post from the restaurant.

White Castle is now serving Seafood Crab Cake Sliders and Shrimp Nibblers during Easter in a limited time extension of its seafood selection, a restaurant spokesman told Fox News. The items join the chain’s traditional Panko Fish Slider and Fish Nibblers, both made with wild Alaska Pollock.
