7-Eleven opens a taco ride through

The store chain said Tuesday that it is opening a Laredo Taco location with a drive-through in Dallas. Usually, Laredo Taco places can be found in 7-Eleven stores. This is the first drive-through for the taco chain, as well as the first drive-through in a 7-Eleven store owned by a business. Customers can slurpees in addition to items from the Laredo Taco menu, which includes a variety of tacos, side dishes and aguas frescas.

7-Eleven opens a drive-thru
During the pandemic, drive-thrus is an important way to sell fast food restaurants to customers. Chains that have relied on them for years, such as Taco Bell, McDonald’s and Burger King, unveil innovative new concepts designed to get through more customers faster. Others, like Chipotle and Shake Shack, quickly add drive-through locations or open them for the first time.

Customers looking for bespoke breakfast, lunch and dinner will appreciate it [the drive-thru] now, ”said Chris Tanco, chief operating officer of 7-Eleven, in a statement.

The new drive-thru is linked to one of 7-Eleven’s Evolution stores, where the chain displays new drinks and offers unique flavors. Customers who enter will find specialty coffee coffees, freshly baked pastries and a variety of wine and craft beers, as well as a mobile payment point for users of the rewards program.

Over the past few years, 7-Eleven has become more serious about its culinary offering. It introduced private label meals and tested keto and paleo snacks. It acquired Laredo Taco spots in its 2018 deal with Sunoco.
