6 new virus deaths in El Paso; active cases rise for 5th consecutive day

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – The health department in El Paso reported six new coronavirus-related deaths and 564 new cases on Wednesday morning.

All six victims had underlying health conditions and include:

  • 1 man in his 40s
  • 1 man in his 50s
  • 1 woman in her 60s
  • 1 man in his 60s
  • 1 man in his 70s
  • 1 woman in her 80s

The death toll from the El Paso County pandemic has now risen to 1,530.

There were another 568 deaths being investigated on Wednesday. It is believed Covid-19 deaths have yet to be confirmed, although most of the alleged deaths have historically been confirmed by health authorities.

The number of active cases increased from 35,487 to 35,710. This is the fifth consecutive day that active cases have increased.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 415 Covid-19 patients in El Paso’s hospitals, one less than Tuesday. There are 148 patients in intensive care, and 100 are in ventilators.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 104,714 confirmed cases in El Paso, with 66,873 recovered.
