
COVID-19 Regional Report Thursday
Tuolumne County – Public Health reports six deaths of Tuolumne County residents attributed to COVID-19. The state notifies Tuolumne Public Health of probable COVID deaths that need further investigation. The investigation confirmed that these six individuals, who had previously been released from COVID-19 isolation, later died. The individuals include a man in his 60s, two men and one woman in their 80s, and one man and one woman in their 90s.
There were 6 new community cases in Tuolumne County today and they all seem to be separate. A total of 7 individuals have been released from isolation and there are currently 4 people admitted to hospital, less than yesterday.
The new community cases include 1 man and 1 woman in their 30s, 1 man in his 60s and 2 men and 1 woman in their 70s.
Tuolumne County has a total of 3,520 cases, divided between 2,279 community cases and 1,241 cases of inmates at the Sierra Conservation Center. The total tested is 23,986, which is 35 less than yesterday due to clearing data, including deleting duplicates. Total recovered community cases are listed as 2,116 with 122 active community cases. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation today reports 61 active prisoner cases.
Calaveras county Calaveras’ public health reports increased 6 new cases of COVID-19 and active cases by 2 to 112. A total of 1,492 were listed as recoveries, an increase of 4. The report notes that COVID-19 hospitalizations remain on 4 residents of Calaveras. Total cases are 1,626 with 735 men, 868 women and 17 with genders not reported. The majority, 722 covid cases, are in the age group 18-49, and there are 376 who are older than 65. The public health raid in Calaveras received 2,321 vaccinations, 121 more than yesterday, and continues to distribute doses to those. eligible. Calaveras remains in the press level with 41.9 cases per day per 100,000 and an average positivity rate of 11.9% on 7 days.
Tuolumne also remains in the purple level of the Blueprint for a safer economy color system. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) officials released their update report on Tuolumne at 21.8 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 and an average 5-day positivity rate at 5.4%. Both Tuolumne and Calaveras adjusted their numbers due to their low population. Mariposa remains in the red plane.
Under the state’s leadership, press level means:
- Restaurants can open for dining
- Certain low-risk youth risk competitions can be resumed
- Nail salons and hairdressers can reopen indoors with changes
- Gymnasiums can work outside with changes
The levels are updated every Tuesday based on the case and the test positivity of a country.

Calaveras Public Health has partnered with Dignity Health Mark Twain Medical Center to vaccinate people living in Calaveras County who are 65 years of age and older. Persons aged 65 and over who are interested in obtaining the vaccine should call (209) 754-2564. Those who call must provide their full name, date of birth and telephone number. Test: A mobile COVID-19 test team shared between the provinces of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Calaveras and Yosemite National Park. The travel sites, which will be open on Monday in the Groveland Community Hall and Tuolumne Memorial Hall on Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Schedule an appointment up to one week in advance on the same LHI website as for the Mother Lode Fairgrounds test site which is open 7 days a week: www.lhi.care/covidtesting.
