6 grocery stores that already offer the COVID-19 vaccination

In November 2020, the government partnered with 11 grocery store chains across the country to bring a free COVID-19 vaccine to everyone in America. Since then, two vaccines have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and now several supermarkets and pharmacies in your area are already giving them to first-round patients.

Kroger Health administered the Pfizer vaccine to healthcare workers in the last few days of December 2020 in Anchorage and Juneau, Alaska. “Kroger Health is also conducting vaccination efforts for priority populations in several other geographic areas,” the company says. They currently have 2,200 pharmacies and 220 clinics in 35 countries.

HEB is already asking for more of the Moderna vaccine in the state of Texas after it distributed or scheduled the first award to distribute the first award, the company said on January 3rd.

“We are awaiting another vaccine award from the state of Texas so that we can continue to vaccinate healthcare providers as well as offer vaccine to those in Phase 1B,” according to a statement on the company’s website. “Once we have stock, we will activate a scheduling tool on our website so people can schedule an appointment.”

The first announcer of Hy-Vee’s Modern COVID-19 vaccine was about 100 residents and staff at a long-term care facility in Fairmont, Minnesota, the company announced in late December. Shortly thereafter, several dozen health workers in Dallas County, Iowa, followed suit, and the chain continues to administer the vaccine to others in the area and in Polk County.

The chain provides distribution of the vaccine to more than 270 drugstore locations in eight states, including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
