Maine (WABI) – Just one day after the director of the Maine CDC issued a warning about an increase in coronavirus cases, Maine is again seeing figures in the 500s as well as five new deaths.

The CDC reports 574 newly recorded cases. This brings our average number of cases in the past week to 447.

Two people from Androscoggin County, one Somerset individual, one from Kennebec and one from York County, died of the virus. We do not know their ages or gender.

Three of the deaths are the result of a review of important records and occurred within the first week in April.

A total of 763 people died in Maine.

There are now 56,525 cases of coronavirus in Maine since March last year.

Of these, 42,578 are confirmed by the Maine CDC.

34 patients are in critical care. 13 is on fans.

Kennebec County is showing 70 new cases, and it’s now higher than the five-thousand mark for overall cases.

Somerset County with 30 new cases, Franklin County showing 23 and Penobscot County adding 17.

Androscoggin County is taking on more than 200 new cases.
