4th night of protests after ex-policeman charged Daunte Wright with murder

Protesters clashed Wednesday night for the fourth consecutive night with law enforcement in front of police headquarters in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, following the murder of Sunday, 20-year-old Blackman Daunte Wright. The white former officer who shot him during a traffic stop is charged with second-degree manslaughter on Wednesday.

Kim Potter, a 26-year-old veteran, was arrested and later released from prison a few hours later after posting a $ 100,000 bond.

According to authorities, delegates, troops and officers were shot Wednesday night with fireworks, spray paint, rocks and other objects. Twenty-four people were arrested. 40 were arrested on Monday night and 79 on Tuesday night.

Law enforcers occasionally use tear gas, reports CBS Minnesota. Some officers spray-painted a chemical on protesters approaching the fence around the building.

Potter, 48, resigned with the city’s police department from the Minneapolis suburban police department on Tuesday.

Police arrested Wright because he lapsed Sunday and found he had an outstanding warrant. When police tried to handcuff him, Wright jumped into his car. The former police chief said Potter thought she was grabbing her Taser, but rather pulled out her gun and then fired the fatal shot.
