Private coach John Beck has teamed up with Ohio Fields Justin Fields and North Dakota State Trey Lance this season. He helped prepare every draft prospect for his pro-day workout in front of NFL teams. Both will hear their names mentioned next week, and their NFL travels will officially begin.

Fields and Lance, along with Mac Jones of Alabama, are among the best candidates to be ranked No. 3 overall by the San Francisco 49ers. The team traded up to the points ladder on March 26 and is looking for a quarterback of the future.

Beck, who played for then-offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Washington, remains close to the 49ers head coach. San Francisco recommended Lance work with the private coach before his second pro day and even give Beck a list of things they wanted to see from the former Bison quarterback. Obviously, Beck’s input could have a significant impact on the Niners’ evaluation process.

Beck joined The football GM podcast this week (h / t to Patrick Tulini), talks to Mike Sando and Randy Mueller and tells what excites him about the quarterbacks he has worked with.

“When Justin Fields walks out of the field, he carries himself in a way (that) you know he played for Ohio State University,” Beck shared. “You know he was the man there for two years. You know he played in a national championship. You know he watches Super Bowls. In his focus level he can see that he walks every time he walks on the field, day to prove he was the best one on the field.

‘I’m just going to say it for what it was. Not a day goes by that he did not want to be the best one on the field, and that excites me, because that’s the kind of attitude you have. ‘

Then you have Lance, who only has 17 collegiate starts on his resume. It may not be a lot of experience, but Beck can see that an NFL team is very happy with the prospect.

“I’ve had the chance to work with Trey over the last few weeks. It was great,” Beck said. “He showed me so many things that [are] going to show me and prove to me that someone is going to be really happy with who they get. He is very athletic, very smart. You put him on the board, you look at bond with him, you can see the football he played in North Dakota is going to prepare him well for the plan he’s going to have in the NFL. ‘

Maybe Beck already has a specific scheme in mind. Perhaps the scheme is being used by a certain Bay Area team.

Beck has not worked with Jones, but that does not mean he has an opinion on the former Crimson Tide quarterback.

“I loved watching Mac Jones on tape this year,” he said. “I think he’s extremely talented … I watched his game in Florida. I watched his National Championship game. I’ve watched it a number of times already and I’m so impressed with him as a player.”

Private coach John Beck, a former NFL quarterback who played for then-offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Washington, worked with Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields this offseason. Beck now lives with Shanahan and has been working with North Dakota quarterback Trey Lance for the past few weeks. It is no coincidence. Fields and Lance are one of the most likely prospects the San Francisco 49ers will pick No. 3 overall. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that Lance worked with Beck at the request of Niners. San Francisco gave Beck a list of exercises he wanted to see from Lance, meaning he was heavily involved in planning Monday’s

NBC Sports’ Peter King was the first to report that Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, and John Lynch, general manager, would attend the second pro days of both Justin Fields of Ohio State and Trey Lance of North Dakota State . Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirmed this report this morning. #OSU QB Justin Fields has his second Pro Day on Wednesday

Justin Fields of Ohio State is holding a second workout on Wednesday. Five days later, Trey Lance from the state of North Dakota takes part in his second. Both are trying to ensure they are selected ahead of Mac Jones of Alabama. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence is expected to be ranked No. 1 overall. The New York Jets Zach Wilson of BYU is expected to be at no. 2 will select. Assuming San Francisco is a quarterback, then Jones, Fields and Lance are San Francisco’s pick at number 3. Jones is the overwhelming favorite to be the pick. if you ask members of the national media. Fans prefer the more athletic outlook in Fields of Lance with a higher ceiling. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch chose to attend Jones

Justin Fields took part in a training session in Columbus, Ohio, this week in front of potential suitors, including head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch of the San Francisco 49ers. This has boosted the former Buckeye’s stock, and he is now the favorite to put the Niners at No. 3 overall. This was the second pro workout for Fields. His first took place on March 30th. However, Shanahan and Lynch were not in favor of it. Wednesday’s training session gave the 49ers’ brain trust its first opportunity to watch the incoming rookie quarter.
