4-year-old British girl accidentally hangs herself in the tree

A 4-year-old girl in the UK accidentally hung herself in a tree a few days after she became a sister of twins – and her mother is now talking about her ‘hellish storm of sadness’ following the tragedy.

Freya Thorpe was wearing a bicycle helmet when she climbed a tree near her home in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, in September 2019, reports South West News Service.

She slipped and fell, but her helmet got stuck in the tree and she died despite efforts by emergencies.

“I’m a broken person, trapped in a hellish storm of sadness,” Freya’s mother, Elise, said.

“We live every day and night in hell, torture, pure shock and sadness that cannot be understood,” she said.

The devastated mother told SWNS that she and her husband “were on cloud nine after the long-awaited arrival and difficult pregnancy” of twins Kiera and Zack – adding that she would have taken her own life if she had not ten days earlier did not give birth.

A brother and sister to whom Freya waited nine long and difficult months so patiently to become a big sister, ‘she said.

“Early in the afternoon, Dad had to go and get the special milk at the Boots Pharmacy in Cowley for the twins, because they were allergic to cow’s milk,” says Elise.

Freya was invited to a play date in a home, a ten-second-long walk on a cul-de-sac, where parents “let their children play with confidence,” the mother said.

But on the fateful day, Freya ventured outside without her mother knowing.

Freya Thorpe was admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital.

‘I felt like I wanted her home. “Shortly afterwards, I saw an ambulance at the end of the road – I panicked when I did not know why I was panicking,” Elise told SWNS.

‘I called my husband to say I was going to get her back from home. He said, ‘No, I’m five minutes away, stay with the babies,’ ‘she said.

‘I saw his car drive past and not come back from the cul-de-sac. I knew something was wrong, “she added.

When she sees her husband with a firefighter, she grabs the twins and rushes to a cordoned-off area where she sees first responders working desperately on Freya.

After waiting two days at John Radcliffe Hospital, she and her husband were told their daughter could not be rescued.

‘I never walked into my house again. “This is something I have also lost to this day – my home,” said Elise.

“If I had not given birth just ten days before, we would have taken the night into the hospital without any doubt,” she said.

‘We’ve had so much support over the last 18 months and we can not tell everyone how much it has worked for us and for that I can never say enough thanks for the support, kind words and donations – not even from those we have never had do not meet, ”the mother continues.

“But we also experienced and abused people who asked, ‘Where were the parents?’ How could they leave her alone? ‘”She adds.

“It caused family tears of family members and judgment because people did not know Freya was not in our care when it happened.”
