4 dead in US Virgin Islands helicopter crash

Four people died in the US Virgin Islands on Monday after a helicopter crash, according to the Virgin Islands Emergency Management Agency.

According to authorities, calls to 911 over a helicopter crashing in the western part of the St. Thomas area departing from Botany Bay, entered.

The identity of the victims and the cause of the accident have not been disclosed at this time.

The emergency management agency said it had recovered the four bodies of the deceased, but it would first release their names before notifying the next of kin.

The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
