Authorities in North Carolina say three police officers were shot and wounded by a suspect who is now barricaded in a home in the city of High Point.
WGHP reports that the absence began Thursday at 11:15 p.m.
High Point police Matt Truitt told the station that officers did not sustain life-threatening injuries. One may need surgery.

Truitt said officers conducted a regular patrol and heard gunshots. They went to a house and saw a man on a front porch.
“Eventually he moved back into the house, and finally we had a subject,” Truitt said.
Truitt said more officers responded before the suspect started shooting at them. Three officers were beaten. They were taken to a hospital.

The man remained barricaded Friday morning. Police said they believe there are no other people inside the home.
“We have a task to do, and we also have a duty to protect life, so that’s why negotiations are being held and that the house has not been demolished, or whatever you want to say,” said Truitt.
