3 arrested after search of Menomonee Falls store

Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department

Three people have been arrested after delegates from the Waukesha County sheriff executed a warrant at a self-proclaimed downtown on Tuesday, March 30th.

According to the sheriff’s department, an investigation into the business – Superstar Buds – has begun after authorities learned of a non-fatal overdose incident involving two young children who inadvertently ingested a CBD-related product. In the incident, the alleged product was obtained by the child parent of Superstar Buds.

During the investigation that led to the search warrant, investigators found evidence that the company was selling products containing banned levels of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). These products have been labeled by the company as CBD or delta-8-THC.

Wisconsin state law allows the sale of CBD-related products. However, CBD-related products may have a delta-9-THC content of not more than 0.3%. According to the sheriff’s department, several of the products obtained during the investigation at Superstar Buds were found to have delta-9-THC levels of more than 20%.

Investigators seized several additional products of the company while carrying out the search warrant marked downtown or delta-8-THC which allegedly contained banned amounts of delta-9-THC.

Charges will be filed with the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office at a future date.

The sheriff’s department noted that Superstar Buds is located near Menomonee Falls North Middle School.
