25 Brazos County residents hospitalized due to COVID-19, 118 new cases

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos County Health District reported 118 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. There are currently 866 active cases.

No new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 221 total deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

17,062 patients are classified as recovering, meaning they were fever-free for 72 hours without antipyretic medication, and that was ten days after the onset of symptoms.

45 percent of the newly confirmed cases come from the 18-24 age group.

There have been 3,799 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 159 active probable cases and there have been 3,640 probable cases recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of testing is 18,149. 194,477 tests were done.

Brazos County’s total occupancy in the hospital bed is 94 percent, and the total occupancy on the ICU is 79 percent.

There are currently 25 residents of Brazos County admitted to the hospital for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under areas for trauma services N (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington). Trauma Service Area N currently reports 620 hospital beds with 94 beds available. According to the latest state data, the region has 3 available ICU beds and 70 available fans. The state’s latest update confirmed 45 COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital by laboratory.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 29 new cases and 307 active cases in March. 9.

Currently, the university has reported 3,348 positive cases since the week of January 9, 2021. 9.1 percent of the tests came back positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on 12 March 2021.

Statewide, Texas, has recovered an estimated 12,1882 active cases and 2,534,100. 2 704 344 total cases were reported and 23 973 238 total tests (both viral and antibody).

To date, 45,106 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 4,848,150 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 2,602,278 Texans have been completely vaccinated. Across Texas, 8,876,475 doses are sent.

254 of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases with 360,938 reported cases.
