The 2024 GM24 Hummer EV SUV that GMC unveiled during the Final Four on Saturday will become the ultimate off-roader, but the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler will compete strongly. Both vehicles are smaller, much more achievable, and most importantly, now available.
The SUV version of the GMC Hummer EV has a specification sheet similar to the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup, but it will be smaller and possibly more off-road.
The Hummer sport utility vehicle offers up to 830 hp, which is sent to all four wheels by both or three electric motors. It can have a 0-60 km / h sprint of less than 3.5 seconds and offers more than 300 miles range. GMC will sell it in five models, two of which are six-edition 1 offerings.
The real difference between the Hummer EV SUV and the pickup is the size, which will affect the SUV’s off- and on-road capabilities and driving dynamics.
2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV
The SUV drives at a 126.7-inch wheelbase, which is 8.9 inches shorter than the truck. This will give it even better departure and break angles, as well as a 35.4-foot turning circle – 1.7 feet shorter than the truck.
The Hummer EV sports utility vehicle looks like the pickup from the front, but the side view shows a naughtier look. A full-fledged emergency tire has been placed on the gate, and the rear three-quarter view gives some strong Hummer H3 vibrations. The pickup’s large front fuselage, sliding door of the tailgate, the Targa roof panel and the second row of T-tops are standard. The Targa panel and the T-tops can fit in the frunk.
The Hummer EV SUV shares its interior with the pickup with seating for five passengers. The simple upright dashboard is a 13.4-inch touchscreen information system and a 12.3-inch digital measuring panel. Like the pickup, the touch screen will use the UnReal engine, which is a popular video game program, to display 3D graphics and motion to indicate what the SUV is doing.
2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV
The Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 model will only arrive in the spring of 2023 and costs $ 105,595, – including the destination. An ultium-lithium-ion battery pack with 20 modules will power the three electric motors. It has an 800 volt electrical architecture with the ability to charge fast at 300 kW. Edition 1 models have the full 830 hp and a torque of 11,500 lbs. Side steps and floor pieces will be standard, as well as 22-inch wheels.
The Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 with Extreme Off-Road package will arrive at the same time with the same power delivery and drivetrain, but the range will drop to 280 kilometers and the price will rise to $ 110,595. 35-inch mud terrain tires, armor cloth and sliding bar included. A front e-lock case and virtual back case should help keep things moving in cluttered situations. Half-axles with heavy ball splints increase durability, and GM’s UltraVision chassis camera system with up to 18 camera views will show what’s going on around the vehicle.
The Hummer EV3X SUV model costs $ 99,995 and follows the first editions with deliveries set for the spring of 2023. It will have the same drivetrain and specifications as the Edition 1 models, and the Extreme Off-Road package is available, but it has not been priced yet.
The Hummer EV2X SUV will also arrive in the spring of 2023 and will cost $ 89,995. This model features an 800-volt architecture and a 20-module Ultium-lithium-ion battery pack that reaches more than 300 miles, but will have only two electric motors. Power drops to 625 hp. Performance figures are not detailed, but we do know that the Extreme Off-Road package will be available.
The base model will be known as the Hummer EV2 SUV, but it will only arrive in the spring of 2024 with a base price of $ 79,995. An Ultium battery pack with 16 modules will drive two electric motors to drive more than 250 miles range, up to 625 hp. An 800-volt architecture with the 20-module Ultium battery pack and more than 300 miles range is optional.
Just like the Hummer EV pickup, the SUVs will be available with the CrabWalk feature that uses the available four-wheel steering system to step sideways to avoid difficult obstacles and maneuvers in difficult situations. Extract mode, which can increase ride height to 15.9 inches from the standard 9.9 inches, is also available, and GMC is offering the hands-free Super Cruise Highway Driver Assistance system.
